Where I stayed
Somewhere over the Pacific....
Brenden offered to loan me $ so all was well, I drove all the way to tennis without conking out, and at quarter to 9 hugged B and went straight to the servo close by. Oh yeah! No wallet, forgot to get money from B....
Well I'll just see how far I get....mobile close to dead so better ring Greg now to organise a rescue....car starts coughing close to the servo and conks out in the off ramp. It's ok, 'cos Greg's bringing my wallet with cards, and so I call him and tell him my location, and wander up with the jerry can to the pumps so I can start filling it soon as I see him
Sign on all the pumps say Sorry No EFTPOS Only Cash. OMG! Call Greg back, yes he has some cash....phew!
Get home, throw pack in Greg's car, go to Chadstone, pick up Viv's pack, go to Prahran, pick up Viv, go to St.Kilda, drop off Janine's ladder & print Viv's boarding pass, go to airport, hug Greg, bite Viv's face & finally plonk ourselves in a seat at PJ's for the obligatory travel pint. Wandered down to passport control 15 mins afer commencement of boarding (with 30 mins before takeoff) and once through was met by a stern-faced attendant wanting to know our names, telling us we were 'being unloaded' at that very moment and that we should run like the wind. At best we achieved a mild breeze and once arrived at the plane were greeted by a line of stoney-faced people and a little man named Nigel Fogbottom-Cheesly who said " It's VERY RUDE to keep 157 other guests waiting ladies!"
The rest of them then stabbed and shot us and spat on our dead bodies.
We went to our seats barely able to breathe (lucky for Nigel) from running and then waited about 20 minutes before even taxiing.
Despite this inauspicious beginning the actual flight was fine, with an amazing sunset and even some sleep.
Viv didn't like her little boomerang travel pillow so had given it to me and that, with the ones provided turned out to be magic! I've never used one before but I'll never fly without one again - beats the hell out of dribbling on some strangers shoulder. Sunrise was apparently beautiful but I was still snoozing and got a report from Viv when I woke up for my bacon & eggs & 'coffee".
We're in San Francisco, in the United States of America!
