Our final full day in the Alps and we decided to go for a low-level walk around Gressoney valley.
This was longer than our mountain walks but being much more on one level it seemed like a gentle stroll! This may have also been helped by the fact that we diverted for hot chocolate and cakes in Gressoney St Jean half way round. We also found plenty of interesting buildings ripe for renovation.
Some looked as though they may already be rather long-term works in progress and others were just waiting for someone to take them on. Beautiful as the mountains are, I can't really see us taking on somewhere here, but there's no harm in dreaming.
Back in Niel, Glynn wanted to show us the Gentians (beautiful bright blue flowers) that he'd found the previous day. Unfortunately this was the first cloudy day we'd had since we left home and they were therefore tightly curled up, but beautiful nonetheless!
