Sorry about the length of time since the last post ,good Internet access is hard to find and we have been pretty busy ! its not easy to type with a beer in one hand and a guide book in the other!!

We arrived in Samui around 9 at night we hopped into a taxi to take us to our resort , well to take us to the foot of the mountain to wait for the 4x4! By this point Jen is a nice shade of mocha. Our lady taxi driver turned to me and said "your wife..........she Thai ?" , now i don't now what is funnier , the fact that Jen is now passing for a local or that i look desperate enough to need to buy a wife ?!

We made it the the rendezvous point with the pick up truck and started our ascent up the mountain , we scoffed at the fact that the road wasn't to bad ..... suddenly the tarmac disappeared and we were scaling up a near vertical dirt road , holding on in the back of the pick up truck for dear life!.

We safely made it up the mountain and were greeted by the staff of the jungle club , the night time views of the beach below were amazing , the Jungle resort had an amazing , chilled out vibe , far from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng below , the sound of the wildlife blended in with the reggae music and soft lighting to make a great place to sit and relax.

We had booked a basic room so were quite interested to see what we would get , the room was itself an experience , we were greeted by giant beetles , monster ants and geckos. The room was simple but beautiful , a single mattress on the wooden floor with a mosquito net . The first night was a little daunting as we got used to the sounds of the jungle , and going to the toilet was a bit more exciting!

The next day we decided to chill out (this was to become a jungle club mantra) we sat next to an amazing infinity pool that overlooked the cliff side , there we lay all day until we decided to live it up a take a trip down the mountain to Chaweng. Chaweng is an interesting place , it is party capital of  samui and also where fat German's go to get young wives , after a lovely meal on the beach we decided to sink a few drinks. We went to a popular bar called the arc bar where they offer buckets of local cocktail for a reasonable price , now you don't have to be psychic to see where this one is going............ Now drinking buckets of cheap local spirit is only ever going to end up one way, and yes after the second bucket and several other drinks i became quite ill , Jen was OK but i was hung over for about two days , its a pity they don't let you keep the bucket for the aftermath!

i spent the next day recovering and once again chilling out in the jungle club. We loved the jungle club it was something a bit different , and somewhere you could happily stay , sit and do nothing!

We woke on the final day to move on to Koh phangan and to sample a full moon party!! bring on the buckets!
