I don't really have mush to say about Adelaide really, it was just another big city. We had a good look about the city centre, visited a crazy market where they sold every thing you could imagine, it reminded us both of the Barras. After we were all city centred out we heading to a place called Glenelg which is the closest beach resort to the city centre. Glenelg was lovely, had a nice relaxed feel, lots of people walking along the beach front and strolling out onto the pier - you get the idea. So we decided to stay in Glenelg for the night. After driving around for a while trying to find somewhere to free camp for the night we eventually gave up as it was far too residential and checked into a campsite with a few beers to console ourselves
When we went back to the campsite we got talking with a family who had just emigrated to oz a few days ago. All four of them (mum, dad and 2 teenage daoughters) were all living in a tent in this campsite until they sorted out a house. Living in a tent would be bad enough at anytime but for weeks or months and it was bloody freezing in Adelaide as it is winter here now, I thought these people were nuts. They had never ever been on Oz before, crazy dudes from London. Anyway, in conversation they told us that a few weeks ago a surfer had been out surfing and two sharks had swam up on either side of him, both jumped at exactly the same time and tore the poor guy in half!! And then, they told us that a family of brown snakes were living in the bushes by the pathway from the campsite to the beach, that we had just walked along in the dark!
Thank god we were only there for one night!!!
