The rest of my experience is best captured in the video I have attached. All I can say is "fucking awesome". Just do it. 60 seconds freefall. A rush like no other.
If it's good enough for Jonny Utah and the Boda Zapher it's good enough for me......
I will keep this brief. During our trip round Oz, it was always my intention to experience a skydive. Throwing oneself out of a perfectly servicable aeroplane at any altitude is a bit questionable, but at 14,000ft, the highest legal altitude in Australia requires a bit more encouragement. That encouragement arrived in the form of Christmas gifts from my Dad and his wife Sue, and, relieved of the excuse of having to pay for the experience, I had no barriers left to hide behind and had to overcome my vertigo by booking myself a place on Wes's 30th birthday skydive. Believing we would be given some 'quality' training that would equip us for the discipline of leaping out of a plane 1.7 miles above the Earth's surface, I was somewhat disappointed that it took longer to fill out the disclaimer forms than it took to train us to land safely.
