We got a ferry from Singapore to Batam and for the first time I have been able to relax without being told to hurry up and put my hair straightners down!

The resort is really nice and we have just been laying by the pool and trying desperatley to get a tan - although I don't fancy my chances!

It is a really quiet resort as it is out of season and sometimes it feels like we are the only people here!

We are off to Telunas beach tomorrow which is a remote island off Batam and I am looking forward to doing more laying by a pool/beach and eating and drinking!

We got a private boat to Telunas which was a very small long tail boat and it took us around an hour and a half to get there.  The views on the way there were amazing and there were loads of little islands dotted around.  The only mode of transport in these places are boats.  The Telunas beach resort was amazing! All the resort was in the sea and in little huts on stilts! The rooms were furnished surprisingly well and the views were unbelievable, we had a balcony that just looks straight out to the sea. All the huts had straw type roof's which were really good in the day as they let a lot of air in so it didnt get too hot, but they weren't so good at night when the wind and the storms came!! Was very scary at times and I thought we would get blown away!

We spend the next few days on the beach and in hammocks! We did ventrure intothe jungle to get to the rope walks but it was so hot, after 15 minutes of walking I was dead! I really am so unfit and should never do any type of exercise in that heat!

We did some night fishing of the jetty but that was unsuccessful and I got myself into a real mess with the line etc. etc. so I gave that up! But was just amazing sitting there - everything was so black! There are also hardly any stars which really surprised me.

On our last night there they did us a bonfire on the beach and we roasted marshmellows.  It was so lovely and they lit up the whole beach.  I really enjoyed Telunas, although 3 days was definitely enough as there wasn't a great deal to do there, but the place itself was just amazing!
