Actually, I am now somewhat famous in town as everyone seems to know the gringo who limps down the road and carries a walking stick... a broom handle the old señora at my hostel gave me. It seems like I've met just about everyone in town and I have no shortage of friends to sit around and talk to. Although my Israeli buddies have moved on a good week ago or so, I have enough local friends and some other travelers to hang out with that I'm never too bored. My only complaint... the food... and you'll never guess what it is! It's chicken, rice and beans... although, having the ocean on your doorstep means a lot of fish-rice-beans as well. Someone, please send South America a freakin' recipe for something..
One of the more interesting characters I've met is Felipe, a Peruvian who lived in the US for 36 years and is building a fantastic hotel. From what I've seen so far, it's great and he took me and my friend Zoe on a little desert tour in his Jeep, which was a lot fun.
I am walking alot better these days but I'm not ready to explore the cities yet... too much walking! I have a number of photos to post, mostly just me sitting with friends at the local bars. That's all from my corner of the planet.
