Lonely Planet cautions women to not walk in the palm groves alone. It seems that this is provocative.

We found that Egyptian men have a certain lack of restraint. Jeff could walk across the street for 2 minutes and return to find some gentlemen "assisting" Marie. Women just do not have the freedom in Egypt they do in the west.
