First of all we survived our Air Asia flight on the 21st of July, the plane was good if you are asian...so it was a little bit small and our heads were seen by everyone but after a 3 hour flight we landed in Malaysia. As soon we had our bags everyone was looking at us why our bags were so big...(This happened a lot during our trip)...we exited the arrivals hall and there was our transport waiting.
From the airport to KL city centre is an hour drive and after dropping of some other people we were dropped of at Hotel Sentral..(OMG Chinatown again...) we had some dinner in the hotel and ordered a jug of Tiger beer...hmmmm. We asked reception what the best way was to explore the Petrones towers, she told us that you have to be in the line for the tickets at 6am...so we thanked her and decided just to look around the towers
The next day we had some breakfast which was really good...and after breakfast we took the monorail to Bukit Bintan, were we had a look around and headed towards the famous towers. Under tower 1 and 2 there is a shopping centre and had a look around but as everything was more expensive than the UK we did window shopping only :-) ... in the shopping centre Lynds made a call to the tour operator and organised a trip for the evening.
We went outside and made some pictures of the towers...when we walked around them we saw a nice restaurant and had some lunch there. After lunch we decided to go back to our hotel because it is really really hot and humid here...10 minutes with the monorail and we arrived back at the hotel.
We were picked up for our evening at 5pm and were brought to the Central Market were they sell a lot of tourist stuff...we didn't buy anything but had a funny experience because our feet were cleaned by little fish. It tickled and felt really strange but after 10 minutes our feet felt definately softer..after the market we were brought into Chinatown...10 minutes later we walked out :-)
We ended the evening with a buffet and local dances...the food was great and the ambiance was good, the guide dropped us off at our hotel
Today, after our breakfast Lynds arranged a trip to the Batu Caves with a cab driver :-) ... tis is much cheaper than going on a tour. At 11am we drove towards the Batu Caves and 15 minutes later we arrived at steps going into a mountain...we walked up the stairs and after 3 minutes we exhausted, it was really steep and there were more steps than we expected. On the way up we saw some monkeys and we were warned that they grab your bag and take it away so we held it really tight. Once at the top (270 steps later) you arrive in a massive cave were some temples are located. We had a look around and went back down were our legs felt like jelly and we wanted to sit down in a cold cab.. so we were brought to a Batik shop were they make hand painted dresses etc..than had a look at a chocolate factory and were brought back to the hotel were we waited for our pick up.
We are now at KLIA (KL international airport) and the next destination is Dubai.
This is it for now Lynds and Jeff
