On Monday, Jeff came down with a cold as well, so we didn't get up to much. We picked up our final garments from the tailors and had dinner at the hotel. As we have stayed here for so long (I think we're up to 7 nights), the manager invited us for a complimentary dinner, which was a very nice surprise. The dinner was really good. We had pumpkin soup, shrimp spring rolls, cao lau, claypot fish with rice and fruit.

On Tuesday, we went to My Son (pronounced Mee Son), which is a Cham site 55km from Hoi An. We took a tour bus with a guide for $5 each and were at the site for about 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, like so many places these days, a good portion of the site was destroyed by the "American War." These temple ruins predate Angkor Wat and belonged to the Cham people who were originally from Indian. The most impressive tower was said to stand 24 metres high and had a 10 metre base. All we saw was a pile of rumble. I'm glad we came and saw the site, but have to say that after seeing Angkor Wat, this wasn't too thrilling.

Back in Hoi An, we went to Cargo for lunch. I had one of the best clubhouse sandwiches ever and a really tasty Vietnamese iced tea. We spent the afternoon at the hotel as Jeff was feeling a bit spent from getting up so early and he is still in the earlier stages of his cold. For dinner, we went back to Morning Glory and were not disappointed. This time we had the local specialty of white roses, shrimp wraps, chicken rice, fresh spring rolls, stir-fried morning glory and profiteroles for dessert. I was a little hesitant on the dessert as it had a mung bean filling, but this turned out to be almost like custard! Another fine meal in Hoi An.

Tomorrow is our last day in Hoi An and then we fly to Dalat. We decided that we didn't want to do an overnight bus and with the flights being so cheap, it made the decision easy.
