I think we are starting to get a rhythm in Hoi An. We woke up this morning at 8:30 and had breakfast downstairs. This breakfast was much more relaxed and tastier than the other hotel. After breakfast, we changed rooms as the room that we were in did not have internet access. A bonus of the move was that we ended up with a softer bed and a nicer balcony. After breakfast, we wandered into the old town and to the other side of the river to the Hoi An islet. We wandered around for a couple hours and then went to the market for Cao Lau for lunch.

At the market, we found our favourite Cao Lau lady from last year. She must have been off yesterday. We compared our picture of her from last year and she was actually wearing the exact same shirt. We love this lady. She puts so much care into her Cao Lau compared to the other stalls. We will be visiting her daily for the rest of our time here!

After our market lunch, we went to a restaurant along the water (actually the same one as yesterday) and had Vietnamese drip coffee with sweetened condensed milk which is superb. We also sampled their White Rose which is a Hoi An specialty of shrimp and pork wrap in a flower-like rice dumpling.

We then headed to the To To Boutique to get some tailoring done. We went here and to a place called Yaly last year. We felt that Yaly was overpriced and a bit snooty, but had a great experience at To To's. This year did not disappoint. We flipped through the catalogues and picked some things to be made. I'm having a suit made for when I go back to work, a couple skirts and a shirt while Jeff is having a shirt made. Having clothes made in Vietnam is such a good deal compared to buying them at home. My 3 piece cashmere wool suit (jacket, skirt and pants) is costing around $140 whereas at home this wouldn't even get me a suit jacket and wouldn't fit me perfectly. Depending on how the suit turns out, I may have another one made. We are going back tomorrow for our first fitting.

After the tailors, I went to the Hoi An Day Spa which is ranked as the number one thing to do in Hoi An. I decided to have a facial and it was better than the ones that I would pay 10 times more for at home! The head massage was exquisite! I may be heading back for some additional services in the coming days.

For dinner, we went to The Morning Glory, which is a popular restaurant in Hoi An. The food was awesome and this time we have pictures! We shared the following (we may have gone a bit overboard!): Pork satay with rice wraps, crispy wontons with crab, steamed crepes with filling of meat and herbs, BBQ pork over noodles, crispy crepe with pork and morning glory with garlic. The food was so flavourful and had so many herbs in all of the dishes. It was a perfect meal!
