Today, we started nice and early with a 7 am departure. On our way to Pakse, we drove through the Bolaven Plateau which is 1300 m above sea level. This area is famous for its coffee plantations. We stopped to see Mr. Coffee to have a tour/workshop on coffee. It was interesting, but he kind of dragged it out a little too much. Our local guide was getting antsy as our 1 hour stop turned into 2 hours.
Once done with the coffee tour, we stopped at two waterfalls in the area, including the highest one in Laos – the Twin Falls.
Finally we made it to Pakse and went to find some internet. Finding internet down in the south has been a bit of a challenge to say the least. We then met up for sunset drinks along the Mekong River and then enjoyed some Indian food for dinner. The food in Laos is getting a bit repetitive, so Indian for a change was much needed.
