Tangier is a mongrel of a city! It seems like everyone who was anyone had invaded and controlled the city for a period of time. Located right up the top left hand side of morocco it's kinda the leaping board for Africans wanting to plunge into Europe.

Although I was only here a night and a morning I managed to get a bit of a look around the Medina. Your standard twisting streets with the hustlers, touts, beggars and crazy scooter riders. I got a hotel room in the centre, right next to a building with a big sign advertising the Socialist Party of Morocco. Who I'm sure must being having a hard time swallowing the fact that their country is still being run by a King.

Before arriving in Tangier I was told by a few other tourists that I had to be really careful here as there were a lot of tourists that got mugged. As a result a lot of tourists purposely miss it out of their tour of Morocco. But I did want to see Europe from Africa, so found a decent look out point and snapped up some photos. It's true that it looks so close that you could almost swim across. Then again some try and get taken out with the strong currents. I remember watching Spanish news and seeing many a bloated body of poor Africans who attempted their fate and who will only be remembered for 3 seconds of air time for their efforts.

Having still all my money and wits about me, I didn't hang around before catching a bus because my next port of call was a place I'd been looking forwards to, Chefchaouen.
