I arrived at Camarillo Premium Outlets not long after they opened. It is a pretty decent sized open mall and it was pretty quiet which suited me. There were some big name brands represented like Adidas, Armani, Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Converse, Gap, Hugo Boss, Hurley, Kate Spade, Kenneth Cole, Lacoste, Levis, Nike, Oakley, Bose, Puma, Reebok, Saks on 5th Ave, True Religion, Skechers and lots more.
I was only about 5 shops in and I nailed my first purchase. It was at the VANS outlet and I got me a couple of pairs of shoes for US $64
Happy with my first bargain, I carried on and managed to score a leather belt, a Hurley casual shirt, a Gap t-shirt and a pair of Adidas Runners before I got out of there. So, all and all, pretty successful day.
I didn't end up leaving until about 3.30pm by which time the mall was bloody busy. I pointed the Camaro east to get back on the Pacific Coast highway for the last leg of my journey south to Los Angeles.
More great coastline greeted me although this bit was a lot more inhabited compared with what I had seen yesterday. There was a steady stream of beaches all the way down the coast with loads of people swimming, surfing and having a good time.
I stopped off at a place called Neptune's Net for a very late lunch. After having to queue for a carpark because it was so popular, I grabbed a beer and ordered some fresh fish and chips.
There is a great atmosphere at this coastal diner which looks out to the coast. There is an interesting cross section of people dining from tourists to bikers to locals
After my lunch, I headed directly across the road to watch some surfers in action. All of a sudden a couple of bikers from Neptune's Net started doing wheelies up and down the highway while being chaired on by the patrons and anyone else who cared to watch. Obviously there were no cops about as they were pretty cocky. All a bit of fun though.
I jumped back in the car and continued my ride south through beautiful Malibu and the surrounding beaches. There were some awesome mansions on the surrounding hills and beach houses on the beach - great place for a beach house to be fair.
I passed through Santa Monica and turned off the Pacific Coast Highway for the final time and on to the interstate for my final run to my pre-booked hotel at Los Angeles International Airport. I dropped off my bags and headed to Hertz. Sadly, it was time to say goodbye to the Camaro. Apparently, Hertz wanted it back. Wankers !
I walked back to the hotel and grabbed a feed at Denny's which was the restaurant based in my hotel. I then headed back to my room and did a bit of blogging before turning in for my final night alone. My gorgeous girls were arriving tomorrow at 7.30am. Can't wait to see them.
Over and out !
