What I did
Sit for 5 hours while Doyles HD fixed my Bike
As I sit here typing this I sometimes wonder if this trip was meant to be. We got off to a great start, it was a beautiful morning, the sun was just coming up and there was a little fog in the area. We went about 20 miles and pulled into a rest area, the roadglide was making a rattling noise, as we tried to find the noise a fedex truck driver stopped by and offered some suggestions and told us we were close to Doyle's Harley Davidson shop. We went about another 20 miles in search of the shop and pulled into a gas station where I noticed no oil pressure. I called the shop and they came over and picked up the bike and took it to the shop which was only a couple of miles away. After about 6 hours and a lot of money they replace my oil pump, both cam shafts and bearings and put new tensioners on and 4 new quarts of oil and a new oil filter and we were on our way. We left the shop around 3pm and went about 200 miles and called it a day. A good lesson in patience and preserverence. We will get an early start tomorrow and will make up some of the time over the next couple of days barring any other setbacks. The drive today was short but good the weather cooperated and it even started to get warm. The rolling hills of Oregon are really beautiful and we can't wait to see some more tomorrow. Stay tuned we are determined to do this trip and God willing we will make it. Chris
Sher here... While all this was going on, I sat and knitted, I almost have my sock done ladies. Stopped at a KOA in Medford, no camping cabin tonight for us, will be cozy in our tent and air mattress.

Sorry about the bike and the extra expense but it is always good to have sock knitting time!
