Sportsfans:

Upon arrival at the Brookhaven Marta Station on the early morning of July 29, 2010, I was swept off my feet by a strapping middle aged fellow, Bob Crochet. Falling helplessly to his trap, I giggled happily over a double order of hashbrowns, pecan waffle, orange juice, and poached egg--his treat! With a couple of quarters in hand, Bob told me to pick out any jukebox song I wanted and so everyone was guest to Seal's "Kiss from a Rose." Things went Bob's way that morning and now that old dog has me living the next couple months with his charming family at their romantic Decatur area ranch. Things are great, but his wife--Becky--likes to leave the thermometer at 68 at night and there's nothing but fruit in the refrigerator. Oh well, I have the whole basement to myself and Becky recently bought my a MacBook for no apparent reason. I shouldn't complain.

I presently rest, however, at a peaceful reserve in the foothills of North Georgia. In a short number of days I have transitioned from the buzzing night town of Bangkok, through a weekend of twisting jet lag in the deep cave of my basement bedroom, and now finally to the American-made shores of Lake Lanier. I am listening to Dan Bowling Sr.--career and single season record holder of all blog 'comments'--instruct his son Teddy as to why the Braves are 2 games under .500 since the all star break: The Curse of former shortstop Yunel Escobar, Bobby's too old, Melky Cabrera doesn't have a neck, Earnie Johnson Sr. is commentating, they don't have any former division three pitchers from baseball powerhouse Millsaps College, there have been no "bark in the park" days all year. This probably makes sense to 3 % of anyone who could be checking in on a trip that's 5 days ended, but for the few that appreciate it, you're Welcome.

For those of you who are wondering how badly my whiffle ball team, Nelly's Barbecue Club, beat the Swamp Donkeys last Sunday, we lost in three games and now begins a period of extreme emotional anguish as we look towards next offseason and the changes that must be made. We need a more consistent leadoff man, for Will Crochet constantly leaves for the "Freshman College Experience" at Ole Miss and will likely to the same next June. Selfish. Also, we need to shore up the back end of the rotation, as I can't seem to get my per game walk total below 12 and John Allen has an addiction to late game grand slam giving. Why? Furthermore, our player-manager Ken Crochet has been funneling team funds towards his cell phone bill. He's always "low on minutes," but can always answer the phone. Interesting. Overall, we came up desperately short on our championship guarantee and will consider ourselves lucky to be invited back to the mature playgrounds of Medlock Elementary.

I start Law School on August 9th and will have myself another adventure. Unfortunately, for you all, it will not be chronicled in detail as have the last 2 plus months of my life. I somewhat know what to expect, but am quite sure things will get rough in a hurry. Pray for me as I navigate through the mindless rules of law that our nation's judicial branch has so easily, clearly, and efficiently laid out.

GO BRAVES AND GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
