Left Burgos around noon today and Tim needed to buy some running shoes. I am very happy with my choice of footwear, as i know many people that have switched from hiking boots to running shoes on the advice of medical professionals, and after having their feet shreded from blisters.
Ventured into the public library so the germans could try and book tickets back home. There must be a class or a course of something going on, because in this room on the fourth floor there were about 100 teenagers waiting to give us bad looks as we staggered in.
A bit frustrated with the morning, not being able to understand the dialogue made our wanderings seem more exhausting.
Off in the morning heat, where we planned to stay at Rabe Del Camino. However, the small hostel was run by a very mean woman who we felt was overcharing us, so we plowed on through the meseta. THe meseta is unbelieveable and i will try to describe it in a later post. THe heat was also indescribable and i walked very very quickly to try and make it to Hornillos as quickly as possible.
The hostal was full, in the traditional sense, but they had opened the deportive next door and had matresses and little beds for pilgrims.... kind of felt like a refugee camp, but i was grateful. Some people around me are less positive... more on that later. FUn night at dinner with tim and an older german couple... more on the later! Out of internet time!!
