Where I stayed
Hostel One Centro
Today, I took a much needed sleep in day. Madrid is a wonderful city, but can be seen in its entirety in 3-4 days, so I was in no hurry to rush out to the sights. After a few cups of coffee, a Brazilian girl who I met at the hostel and I headed to the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia contemporary art museum. The Reina Sofia houses the world famous Guernica by Pablo Picasso! The painting was massive and spectacular to see in person. The museum's wonderful permanent collection includes, in my estimate, 60-70 Picasso's, 10-20 Dali's and 20-30 Miro's. After two hours in the museum, we headed back to the hostel where we got an excellent recommendation for a traditional Spanish Paella dinner. After filling up, I headed back to the hostel to get to bed early before my flight to Lisbon, Portugal the next day!
