I had arranged to meet a friend of mine in Orillia who was a policeman on a course at OPP Headquarters in Orillia. We were flying to Jacksonville the next day from Buffalo NY.
Part of the arrangement was get a ride to Orillia, and then i would drive back south with him in an unmarked Police car.
For the 3+ hour trip down to the Niagara Pennisula, sitting in the back with tons of luggage and equipment, I was shown how all the radar, lidar and radar detector detectors work. Its amazing all the gadgets they have in these cars, and how they can actually drive without an accident playing with all this stuff.
Once we got down to St.Catherines, we handed in our police car and took his truck to his house and waited for another friend to pick us up and take us to the airport.
Under the impression, we were going for a few drinks before being dumped at the airport to wait for our 5am flight, off we went.
I grew up in the Niagara area, and often went to Buffalo NY to party. We were dropped off at the airport at midnight sans drinks and 5 hours to kill. So off we went in search of a bench and a place to nap. Morning would come quickly.
