New things can be scary or just plain confusing. Sometimes it takes a while figure out new things. Some of us read the manuals some of us just bulldoze through and try and get it right. A rental car is one of those things.

Our car is not a fancy one,in fact rather plain. Yet,it has many buttons and things neither of us have one our car.

After loading our luggage into the big trunk we figured out which way to head. Wanting to save gas, we opened the windows and headed off. It wasn't long before we realized we needed to turn on th air. I continued to drive, while Di played with buttons. It was no before we were blasted with cool air and I was feeling much better.

However, Di kept adjusting buttons to get cooler. I couldn't figure this out as I was now chilly, but let her amuse herself with playing. I noticed her sweating and twitching. We had travelled about 20 miles and she explained that her butt was very hot. I explained to her that the car had heated seats and she must have tuned hers on as I was just fine. Problem solved and she cooled off.

Since then, no problem with the car. Oh and when we drive inland, the air is on. It is far too hot.

Today was a low key day. We drove into SLO and shopped a bit. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Both of us bought a few things. However, I still do not have a jacket or sweatshirt. Th mornings are cool, no cold. I wear the housecoat the hotel provides while on the deck. In fact this afternoon, despite the temperature reaching 80 degrees I SLO, it was done to 68 on our deck. The wind made is chilly in the shade.

We have bought several bottles of wine. Both white chardonney's without the oak flavour. In the evenings, rather than drinking wine with dinner we have a drink when we get in. There seems to be a winery around bend I the road. Today we stopped at one. The wines we tasted we're good, since one pays $10.00 to sample the wines, we shared the samples. If you. Uh a bottle, the $10.00 is deducted froth cost. Since, I don't want to drink and drive, we are not doing much winery hopping.

We found a cute coffee shop in SLO . We sat in the garden area enjoying iced coffee. We don't use our cell phones as the roaming charges are high, however I use mine for a timer to remind me when our parking meter is almost done. So far it has worked. Speediest another issue. I watch the speed limit as I have seen more police in a few days than I have seen in Vancouver in a few months.
