What an interesting day, we started the morning all bundled up trying to warm up, by the middle of the day we were hot. The weather here changes very quickly as one moves inland. It was quite cool as we ate breakfast. I put on the terry housecoat to keep warm as I did not bring a sweater, while a few hous later it was 98 degrees.

Due to the cool weather here we drove to San Luis Obisio. It was amazing to watch the temperature gauge climb. In a matter of minutes, the temperature rose about 15 degrees. However, this was nothing compared to what happened later in the day. We left Paso Robles when it was 98 degrees. We headed to the beach, a 15 minute drive west. The temperature dropped 32 degrees. We sat huddled on the beach wondering where the heat went. Everyone says this is normal.

SLO (San Luis Obisio) has a weekly market. I was excited about going. Well, after about 15 minutes we both were anxious to leave. It took up 4 city blocks and every person within a hundred miles was there. It was hard to see anything. One stall was selling pulled pok and ribs, the line up was a block and a half. Needless to say, we ate dinner elsewhere.

Earlier in the day we had seen a Vonn's grocery store. I like that store and we were on a mission to find it, as it was on the road going home. Our problem was finding that road again. We drove around for about 20 minutes looking for highway 227. Now, remember we had left the street market due to large crowds, so the option of finding a usable bathroom was impossible. Thus as we made it to Vonn's my bladder was ready to burst. I darted into the store scanning for a "washroom", no luck. I asked the closest staff member, a young man," can you please tell me where you washroom is?". He looked dumbfounded, "I don't think we have that.". All the lady cashiers laughed and sent us on our way. Later buying our wine, the clerk said we made their night. (the male didn't know a washroom was a bathroom.)

I always found the Coast too cool...but you are right...a little way inland and it is nice and warm. Had din on Karen's porch last night...going over to
Bev's for lunch later...overcast here...but warm...they say the haze is due to Siberian forest fires. Had a huge landslide in the interior...4 houses and 4 people missing.
