Saying Goodbye

Right now i am sitting at my best friends computer as she sits in the other room packing and finishing The Last Samari. She leaves on monday the ninth and I don't know how many more times i will see her before she goes. She has decided that she wants to study abroad in China and is flying out ten days before I leave port. It will be the first time that we have been away from each other since we were four. Fifteen years of memories of what we were will go with me on this trip. I know and expect the change that will come. I am excited for us to grow up. At the same time I will miss not having her constant companionship in all of my times of need. I will miss her and hopefully she will miss me. I don't plan on coming back the same person that I am now and so in saying goodbye to all of my family and friends I feel also that I am saying goodbye to part of myself. Who knows what tomorrow will bring but i eagerly await it.
