Not much to expand on today - wandering the lanes and alleys of Venice this morning to the eastern tip and Liz and I then venturing over to the glass-making island of Murano this afternoon. Liz was in search of glass beads for her lace-making bobbins and I was curious to see whether things had improved in 25 years.

Alas, still mostly tacky tourist glass. Less of the red, green or blue with gold paint and new novelties to grab the tourist dollar this time around.

Packing up tonight for tomorrow's marathon four-train trek across the width of Italy to Riomaggiore on the Cinque Terre.
