Nine hours finds us in transit at Hong Kong airport for two hours. I have road-tested the coveted Row 30 in Premium and it certainly beats Economy for food and comfy seats. However, the much-flaunted leg supports fail to support long Caucasian legs and the noise-cancelling headphones are actually just padded over-ear headphones.

Ian and Grandma experience row 31 behind me. For the 12 hour HKG to LHR leg, the seating allocation is reversed and the smaller footrests of the rear rows fail completely. However, the greater recline and wider seats are far more conducive to sleep, so after Season 7 of "Friends" and a couple of movies l snooze adequately before rolling out at 5.40am at Heathrow - NOT my time of day - and onto the Heathrow Connect train to Paddington.
