...but two hours in Changhi did give me time to buy a duty-free watch, since both my cheapies had died in the same week last month.

The flight to Singapore was pleasant and uneventful. My first A380-800 flight likewise, although the enormous bird does make quite a few alarmingly different noises compared to 747s.

Departed 11.30pm local time for 14 hours overnight to London. Seated alongside the baby cots...

I see that you are preparing yourself for grandchildren (when they eventually arrive) seated next to the cot section.... just makes you realize that you do grow "out of that stage" - thankfully.
