So I haven't written in a while, yet amazing things have been happening. Maybe not on the surface but within my life. I feel myself growing into an adult. It's sometimes painful in that I have to mentally accept things that I know my youthful side would rather hold on to. Yet, I also know that I am pushing towards my breakthrough, and this one's gonna be sweeeeet! lol I am ( I think) right about at the half way point. Wait let me check. Wow..yup about 8 1/2 weeks left! Craziness! I am ready to go home and share all that I've learned. Hopefully I'll have a screenplay, book, and documentary done. But WE'LL SEE!
I have an opportunity to intern for a television network called Net 2 TV. So hopefully that goes well. The fall break is approaching, friday actually and I don't have anywheres to go. So I suppose I'll be here in Ghana, hopefully seeing what it has to offer me. : ) Btw I need to meet someone that works for the airlines because this just isn't fair! lol Anywho I've decided to read about ten book within the next two weeks because my goal is to tackle Roots in Novemember! I want to read it from cover to cover. Most of my books are now about Black Thought.
Which leads me to my next topic. I am starting a movement! Yes! isn't that exciting. Throughout my many classes the question has repeatedly come into my mind. "How does one start a movement?" And I've decided that it starts with some saying I don't like such and such about an issue and working to change it. I haven't made finite my "name" yet I know that it will be about "Reclaiming our Identity as Black Americans". It is time that we (especially my generation) understand fully who we are so that we can truly take over the world. Many people look at Obama as the token Black boy, subsequently his family as the token Black family. What the masses don't realize is that ALL Black people have the power to achieve everything, yet we do not understand ourselves enough in order to do so. We are still allowing history to hold us back. Yes, Black people all of African descendants have not had a glorious past, yet instead of letting that be our baggage that we carry along with us from job to job and relationship to relationship we need to use our history as a stepping stone to reach up and grab the next great thing to come in our life. Whew...I think that will be apart of my next speech, since I am also a motivational speaker now. : )

Well I'm going to get back to reading. I'm currently reading Spike Lee's UpLift the Race and next will be Franz Fanon's Black skin White masks.
Stay tunes. Pictures to come
