The five or six hour bus ride up to mammoth went smothly and was a fun time. Plenty of Guniness on board to celebrate St. Patricks Day. No beer bong this year... at least not on the bus.
We got in early enough Friday night that Friday turned into a fun party night. I large group of us ended up across the street from the condos at a tiny bar.
Saturday I got a bit of a late start due to Friday night's parting, but it turned out to be a fabulous day for snowboarding. Saturday night was the progressive dinner... On the one hand I miss the dinners that Jeff, Pete and I used to host that would inevitably turn into parties attracting RBF's and even some non-RBFer's, but the other hand the progressive dinners provide a nice staging ground to get RBFers together that want to go to town in a big group.
To be honest I planned on going to town, but crashed out early after having a great conversation with Paige and a guy named Ahmet (sp?) about India.
Today was another great day, with a few inches of fresh snow. Took a great run down Daves and under Heuvos, but didn't drop in on Heuvos... someday I'll go back, but not today. Getting back to the condos at the end of the day I learned Tom Ryan had been to the hospital and at least at that moment thought he was still there, meaning the bus was going to have to wait at the hospital for him as it did for me years ago... Fortunately for everyone Tom just had a badly sprained ankle and had already made it back to the condos.
Tomorrow is a rest day, and then it's out to Joshua Tree for some Rock Climbing with Kim
The ride home was uneventful.
