Short entry today. We are about to leave for the 3-4 hours trip back to Ubud. Our driver will arrive at noon, about 1.25 hours from now. We woke to clouds this morning and it turned to sprinkles this morning. Hopefully it won't be too rainy for the trip back since we are suppose to see some very nice views on a different route back than we took coming up here.
Last night we attend a ceremony performed by a group of Balinese kids and young adults. It was held down the beach a couple of resorts. We walked along the beach at night to get there. Very nice with the beach side village/resort lights glittering on the water. One of the performers was the daughter of Putu who is the manager at Amertha. He was very proud to let us know that his daughter would be performing and even showed us a picture of her before the event. There were about 20 or so musicians that created mostly percussion sounds for the dancers. The costumes were magnificant with head dresses in gold and red. Very beautiful. Kathy wants me to add that they were flowing and sparkly fabric, but thats not my type of talk so I added it as she said it. Ha!
Kathy and I took a walk along the shore this morning. Went in a different direction than we have walked before. Wasn't too long and we were nearing a village with beachside shacks. People living there with goats tied up in the front and lots of private boats that they use for fishing. Very friendly people greeted us, but we decided not to intrude on their living spaces.
Kathy is past her "Bali Belly" now since she had spicy Spaghetti Aglio last night. I ate what she had ordered a couple of night earlier when she realized that she shouldn't try something quite that spicy just yet. It was very good!
More later from Ubud!
