Like every other Moroccan city, our trip to Essouira began by being hounded as soon as we stepped foot off the bus by people offering you accommodation. The two who came up to us first seemed to have a good deal on an apartment nearby so we decided to go with them to check it out. When we got there we had to wait a few minutes downstairs while something was done, then, up we went. The place looked like it hadnīt been used in months, but wasnīt too bad and very big for the 5 of us. Upon agreeing and paying the agreed amount to the landlady who came down when we got there, our two touts hung around the apartment for a while until we asked what they wanted. Why, their commission, of course. And they wouldnīt really take no for an answer.
