Our trip begins at the Regina airport. It is Nora's 4th time going through airport security and her 6th time on an airplane. She fell asleep on the drive to the airport, and we managed to get her into the Baby Bjorn without waking her up. Success!
Ha! We would like to give a special thanks to Cindy of Regina airport security for insisting we wake up the sleeping baby and take her out of the carrier to go through security. Remember, she's been through security three times before, once at this exact same airport and always rode through in the baby bjorn. Last time, Nora was awake, and smiley Perfectly content and would have gotten out of the carrier no problem, but nobody asked. New rule: No babies may sleep through security. To anyone who had to listen to an unhappy, tired baby on the plane from Regina to Calgary, thank Cindy. Without her assistance, our baby may have slept longer than 10 minutes and been far less cranky. The airport security rules change from day to day and probably from person to person. This time I got smarter and wore sweats so there was no belt to be x-rayed. I failed to wear slip on shoes, but today must not be a shoe x-ray day. Lucky me.
In Calgary, we totally enjoyed the Maple Leaf lounge. Thanks Dad! There was no soup, which totally disappointed Mark, but he survived...somehow. Our next post will be from Italy! I just had to get on here to complain about the randomness and uselessness of airport security. We're not leaving the secure area here in Calgary, so we shouldn't have to go through that again. Nora's awake anyway, so it doesn't matter.

There's another stupid rule that makes no sense. A baby can't sleep through security?!? Oh yea, I forgot, XRays are defeated by sleep!
