Where I stayed
avec Aurélie et Chris
So, after some Metro shenanigans, I got to Strasbourg in the early afternoon to commence squealing enthusastically with Aurélie, who I hadn't seen since she left Montreal in the summer of 2007. She and I filled each other in on the states of various mutual friends as we took the bus back to the apartment she shares with Chris, a fellow McGill student and longtime Irregulars associate.
We had tea (thank you God) and then took a walk around Strasbourg's old town, which does have that distinctive architecture. Aurélie pointed out various sites and sights of interest, including her school, the cathedral, the pont tournant, museums and a women's prison that now trains France's government officials. Strasbourg is also full of embassies, since it is the home of the European Parliament.
Strasbourg is also for runners - flat, parks interlaced with trails and a million people using them, all usually in all black running gear. Not a lot of people run with music, so maybe this is the perfect chance to practice for Ottawa.
