Just a quick entry to get us back on time.

We arrived in Nong Khai at approximately 9am and crossed the border eventually over to Laos (it takes a long time, filling out new visas for four people).

Was taken straightaway to our guesthouse, Thong Bay, which is now called something else (Villa Thatluang?). This place is beautiful. Took some photos.

We were pretty beat by the time we got here so we all kinda crashed out after a beautiful in-house lunch of green and red curries. Woke up and headed down to the riverside for dinner.

Found a Lebanese restaurant showing the women's football final (Sth East Asian Games are being played here in Vientiane) between Vietnam and Thailand. Vietnam won on penalties whilst we enjoyed a chicken kebab with garlic sauce and the kids had beef burgers.

Headed back to the guesthouse and tried to work out flights to Luang Prabang in a couple of days. Organised with a local agency and will pay for them in the morning.

After the kids went to sleep, Kythera and I had a beer each and chatted out under the stars. Was a nice, enjoyable way to end the day.

Tomorrow: A bike ride to Patuxai and That Luang!
