We went to the Baptistry where the celling was painted, there are big gold doors at one of the entrences. We went up the bell tower - the views of Florence were fantastic. Well worth the long walk up. We then went to a big church (we cant remember the name). There was a museum under the church showing the origional church that was uncovered many years ago.
We had a string of bad luck that began when we were on a REALLY BUSY bus. Jaydine got knocked and she let go of her bag to grab onto the bar and someone stole her purse out of her bag. We didnt know what to do and the bus driver was no help. we went back to the hostel and they kinda helped us. after lots of phone calls to home and to the bank she has nearly got it all sorted out. This has given her the excuse to buy a real itallian leather purse - its safely packed away till we return. The following morning we went to the police station to report the theft. It was an eventful 24 hours!
Later we went to the Gallaria Acedamia to see the statue of David. He was much bigger than we thought it would be. He had an instesting facial expression - thoughtful/confussed.
We went to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa - twice! The first time we got there too late and we couldnt get tickets for that day so we came back the following day. They only let 30 people go up at a time. It was fantastic. As you walk up the stairs you can see and feel the lean. It was really weird. The views were great! We took lots of photos espically the classic photo of us holding up the tower! We were a bit rushed because we had to get back in time to catch our next train to Naples. There was a train strike on that day so our train back was cancelled. Luckly we were able to re book on a later train.
