They say troubles come in three! First, the dress was late....then my little eyebrow incident....and then.....

It's Friday morning, we have a ton of stuff still to do in preparation for the wedding!! First thing first, we need to head into Golden, from the lodge, to pick up the wedding cakes. The cakes were gorgeous and looked fantastically delicious! MMM...whipped cream topping. We fill the trunk with bags of ice, load the cakes in, and are just about to head on the 35 minute drive back to the lodge before the cakes melt in the 30 degree weather when......dad says, "The car won't start"...lol. We had heard a noise prior to stopping at the store to pick up the cakes, but mom and dad just had the car fixed up prior to the trip...so what could possibly be wrong?? Jay thought he was kidding, but dad kept trying again and again...nothing....lol. So, we unload the cakes, bring them back into the store, load the rest of the stuff into a shopping cart....and that was the beginning of our three hour wait at Overwaitea in Golden, B.C. We were there for THREE hours!...waiting for CAA, which boosted the car, caused a wire to short, and the car to start smoking! Out came the fire extinguisher, just in case. The tow truck came, our extra rides came, and in the end, the car was fixed, the cakes made it back okay, and we were only 3 hours behind schedule! haha.

Saturday was a day to remember FOREVER!! There is not a single thing that we would change!!...well, except for me forgetting the rings for the ceremony!! The dress was on, the music was playing, and we sent the ring bearer and flower girl down the isle....wait a minute, something clicked in my head....we forgot the rings!!! The ring bearer isn't carrying anything!!...lol. Dad ran back to the room, got the pillow with the rings, we called the ring bearer back, gave him the pillow, sent him on his way again....and we did it all so quickly...no one noticed!! I think my two and a half year old niece may have helped to "distract" everyone by refusing to walk up the isle and by dumping out all of her flowers and the entrance...haha! It turned out perfect! No one noticed the ring mix up...the weather was perfect, and we were married!!!

After some last minute planning with the lodge, Dan and Carrie at Heather Mountain Lodge, pulled off an awesome day for us! Everything was perfect, the staff was sooo friendly, and the food...well...the food was PHENOMENAL!! Dan must be one of B.C.'s top chefs! Everyone was amazed with the spread he prepared...Dijon Chicken, BBQ Beef, stuffed zucchini, bacon wrapped beans...and the list goes on! The food is a big part of making a wedding memorable...and it definitely was that!!

Sergei, our photographer...and the best one at that!...captured all of our moments! His artistic ability and hard work will not be forgotten! Check out his blog at http://www.sergeibelski.com/blog/847 and also see the slide show he has put together http://www.sergeibelski.com/blog/854. We would highly recommend him to anyone!

Everyone knows that Jay and I like to be different...lol. So we hired a comedian for the entertainment! He was wonderful! We attended a comedy club for our first date, and Jay also proposed at a comedy club, so hiring Brian Stollery for our wedding was rather suitable! He did a wonderful job and he customized the show around us and our guests, making Saskatchewan jokes, and marriage jokes. There wasn't a moment of silence while he was performing! http://www.brianstollery.com/.

We also need to thank all of our family and friends for making our day so spectacular! To all of you who helped to set up, who helped to organize, and for those who attended, THANKS!! A special thanks to my brother Brad and sister in law, Rhonda, who set up the slide show for us. Brad was also our MC and kept everything in line and on time! Thanks to Alex, Uncle Ed, my parents, James, and all of the bridal party! Alex saved us with the technical stuff for sure!

We are now back on our way to preparing for our trip! Only about three weeks until we leave! I go for my corrective eye surgery in exactly one hour and fifteen minutes! Thanks again to everyone who made our weekend spectacular and memorable! We had over 20 people join us for our rafting trip on August 1 and had a blast!! Be sure to check out the pictures!
