It seems our late night in Peru has put our body clocks out because we haven't been able to get out of bed before 11am each day since arriving in Mexico City, today was no exception. So after getting up and having our usual hot cakes with coffee and juice served by our two favorites in the restaurant we had got to know from spending all that time here, the young guy who wasn't here on our first day back and the older lady in the kitchen who comes out to say good morning and give us a smile. We had also bumped into Gustavo on our way out for dinner last night who couldn't believe his eyes when he saw us walk down the stairs. Today we firstly went around to a bunch of salons in the area to get myself a haircut. After about the 4th salon we looked in we found one that could do it right away. A tall friendly male with glasses who spoke ok English took me in and washed my hair, he asked about our travels and told me he'd lived in Canada for a bit and knew a little French and English. A young lady employee by the name of Jessica did my haircut, she only spoke Spanish and took a very long time to do the cut, in fact I think this salon was a training place because the guy sat and watched her and talked to me, once she finished, he conditioned my hair, then they dried it, all up it took a lot longer than expected but it was only about $12 and it was done so it didn't matter, I did ask the guys name but it was one of those Mexican names I can't pronounce let alone spell. We then spent a few hours walking around the same areas and into the zocalo markets while Bobbie did shopping, she has a few last minute presents to buy as well as trying to find something to wear tomorrow night, when we catch up with our friends we made when we were here last. The zocalo was shut off for some reason and all the market stalls were set up around the small streets surrounding them, which makes it chaotic to walk around, crowds of people, vendors yelling at the top of their lungs and stuff laid on on blankets on the side walks, markets in Mexico are a real crazy experience. Once we had finished we headed back to the hotel, on the way I got some hair color, Bobbie got nail polish. We spent the afternoon coloring my hair, fixing the cut and I also shaved my beard that I'd been trying to grow for 4 months. After having my hair cut and colored and my facial hair looking nicer I felt a lot better. That night for dinner we went to a restaurant just up the road called Sanbornes, we had a shit meal here on our last trip and vowed never again but on our stop off to Peru we ate at a different Sanbornes near panorama hotel and it was great so we gave it another chance, we shouldn't have, it was still shit, I got the wrong meal and bobbies pasta was watery and flavorless. After that we headed back to the hotel to do more organizing for USA and watched movies.
