Checked out of the Hilton and went in search of more humble accommodation. We found a very decent hostel further north up the river near the infamous Kao San Road, and were welcomed into our new room by a (what Alice called MASSIVE) cockroach. After flushing said cockroach down
the toilet, we wandered around the Kao San Road with many other backpackers and checked out the markets. More tasty street food.

We've decided to stay in Bangkok for one more day to check out some of the recommended must-see sights before heading off the the Cambodian border. A mini-bus has been booked to take us to Siem Reap (Angkor Wat), journey duration = 12 hours. Fingers crossed, an air conditioned mini-bus...
