Yesterday we drove back up the Milford Road towards Milford to take in one more hike before heading back to Queenstown.

Lake Marian, beautiful views, very calm and quiet (no wind).
Drive to Te Anau to relax by the lakeside before heading back to Queenstown for the night.
Glowing sunset at 9pm as we drove down into the town on the highway.

Checked into a twin room ($23) at Bungi Backpackers and after a much appreciated shower and clean up Jorgen and I walked around town to see what Queenstown is like on a Saturday night. Busy, and full of tourists.

There were a few buskers about at night, some good and some not so good. I noticed the police only asked the worst sounding trio to pack up and move along.

We randomly met up with Katrini and Sophie (who we knew from Fox Glacier, Haast and Wanaka - you always meet the same people time and time again) and Katrini agreed to join us for Pizza tomorrow.

After all the hiking we had been doing lately Sunday was the perfect rest day - warm sunny weather and no agenda. Chris was in town so we went for a stroll in the Queenstown Gardens while waiting for the Pizza Hut buffet to open.

Jorgen and I (as expected) ate far too much, but it was something that had to be done. We had been talking about doing this in Darwin but there wasn't the opportunity.
