Today was Queens Day - a Dutch holiday that was being celebrated in Federation Square. Many Dutch people descended on the square (including a fair share of backpackers) to participate in the music, watch the clog dancing and sample the food from home. There were Dutch flags raised on the official flagpoles, and the whole square was ablaze with orange balloons, orange hats and orange clothing. Even I was wearing my orange fleece!

Monique, Dewi and I had a lot of fun soaking up the atmosphere and eating genuine Dutch Poffertjes (small pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar). Hmmmm... lekker (delicious)!
