La vuelta de Quilotoa, empieza en Latacunga y nos tardamos 3 días y dos noches. Consiste básicamente en dar una vuelta en bus y pick-ups en montañas alrededor de los 4.000 metros de altura y visitar la laguna de Quilotoa que es un lugar sagrado para los indígenas del lugar y alrededores.
Para ello duermes en un una casa indígena, y después te buscas la vida para agarrar una pick-up y hacer en dos horas 14 Km. que te separan del siguiente pueblo, así os podéis hacer una idea de como está la carretera (eso si los paisajes son tremendos), una vez en el otro pueblo tienes la opción de agarrar el único bus que sale a las 3.00 de la mañana para la civilización o irte en el camión de la leche de las 9 de la mañana, obviamente escogimos la segunda opción y fue toda una experiencia, pues compartes la parte trasera de la pick-up con los dos mozalbetes que van recogiendo la leche recién ordeñada y poniéndola en dos bidones de los indígenas que esperan a la orilla de la carretera y al mismo tiempo hay otras personas que esperan para comprar unos litros (la higiene obviamente brilla por su ausencia), al principio mas o menos hay espacio en la parte trasera pero poco a poco se va llenando hasta ser un verdadero puzzle humano lleno de todo tipo de hedores.
The Quilotoa Loop takes about three days and two nights and basically is make a loop by bus and pick-ups around 4.000 meters mountains paying a visit to the Quilotoa Lagoon which is a sacred place for locals.
You have to spend the first night in the house of a indigenous family and go very early in the morning to the lagoon otherwise is all cloudy and you can see anything at all. And the you have to manage to get a ride of 14km that will take you about two hours to go to the next village (imagine the state of the "road"), from that village you got two options to come back to civilization, one is take the only bus at 3.a.m. and the other one is ask for a ride to the milky truck, obviously we choose the second one, and at the beginning of the ride you share the back of the truck with two assistants of the main milky man, who are taking the fresh milk from the peasants waiting on the sides of the road, and selling to others, but with the time more and more passengers are getting into the truck and finally you play a puzzle with the rest of them and the different smells. But the landscape makes it really worthy the more than two hours ride.
