So, as usual, after dumping our stuff, Marta and I set out to see the town. And I can say that it is the neatest town I've been to, just for the quaintness of it. It's all very clean, you feel safe, and many little nooks and crannies to explore
The second day we were there, they were celebrating their Independence Day with a marching band passing thru the square, followed by dancers. Then, several teams of dancers did their thing in the square, making it a very enjoyable day.
I took a walk over to the one and only beach in Kas. It's a few miles out of town, up and down some hills; but a pleasant walk. The water is just a little too chilly for me; but I enjoyed drinking a chi and watching the Med sea.
We took a boat ride to Kalekoy and Kekova, described in another entry. Also, we took a day trip to Myra, also described in another entry. It's very confusing, the names used for these places, as often time the ancient names are used, instead of the modern names.
Well, we have to get on the road here, and get going. Oh yes, Kas is on the Lycian Way, which is a pilgrimage from centuries before. It looks like it would be an excellent hike.
