February 20, 2007
I arrived in Singapore under the veil of darkness, following a treacherous passage through enemy territory. My mission was clear: to rescue undercover agent D'agostino and his consort (an Indian national who shall hereafter be referred to as "double-agent Shruthi") from the confines of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, internationally-recognized for its harsh interrogation methods and grueling workload. Recently, prisoners at LKY had become afflicted with the life-threatening "Allworkandnoplay Syndrome," and denied even basic human dignities such as family visits and healthy vegan fare. D'agostino being one of my closest comrades from our stint back at the underground revolutionary "Stalwart Eco-Anarchist Cadre" (SEAC), I would pay any price, take any risk necessary, to free him from his bondage and expose the despotism of the global capitalist elite at LKY who held him in their clutches.

Posing as an innocuous tourist, I first reconnoitered the city on my own, familiarizing myself with the terrain and mapping out several potential escape routes. Though there were few obvious indications of Singapore's infamous State repression in the form of manned patrols, there were tell-tale signs of widespread and surreptitious electronic surveillance. As in my homeland, I had to remember to "watch what I say and watch what I do." Once I received the signal that they were ready to receive me, I snuck past the guards at the complex where the agents were being held. Fortunately, the main gate-guard was of Chinese ethnicity, and since all white people look the same, he likely mistook me for one of the bedraggled "students" returning to the complex following yet another all-nighter in the library. After providing me with a generous share of their rations and some much-needed rest, agents D'agostino and Shruthi began reviewing our escape plans. To protect the identities of other operatives, even those whose spouses may disagree with the current Administration, the full details of our adventure cannot be disclosed, but they included penetration into the compound of a high-level official, midnight forays into the habitats of dangerous creatures, and clandestine meetings in the city's infamous Chinatown, aka "Bu Ye Tian"-The Place of Nightless Days.
