well we made it on our first overnight bus..they call them sleeper buses and they are pretty strange...basically the seat is almost a bed..you lie on the floor with your legs in a little compartment underneath the person in front of you..i was in the middle with kate next to me by the window....we ended up with an elderly local man sitting inbetween us on a little chair..he was slightly higher than us so it mean i pretty much meant i had his feet at my head level!!
as the journey went on he ended sleeping on the floor next to me..i got some sleep but i really cant recommend them...certainly not to anyone from the netherlands...but perfect for anyone under 5 foot tall!!
we got to hoi an at 7am and then had to wait till nearly noon for a room at the hotel..but finally got sorted and went to explore the town....
its a lovely town here..got some real charm and beautiful buildings..to be honest this place is the first that we can say we really liked and had some style...a really lovely place to chill for a few days...if you can avoid the tailors...they are everywhere!!!
