Where I stayed
fairyland hotel..great name
we left kampot around 7.30 and got the bus to the capital..it took about 5 hrs and when we arrived it was information overload...they attack you when you get off the bus to take a tuktuk..all at inflated prices....we grabbed our bags and walked away from the crowds and got a tuktuk which we shared with a girl from belgium
we were recommended a place called the fairyland hotel...it sounds bizarre but its tourned out to be a winner...brand new and only 13 bucks a night..so it works for us...a much nicer than the sunday guesthouse next door where we thought we would end up as per the groanly planet..(many thanks to willy from south africa for the recommendation..are you talking yet??)
we didnt do much in the afternoon..we are here for a few days so no rush...but we did find a supermarket!!! now that might not sound fun but we were very excited...kate could have stayed all day...looking at the nice food...it was clean.packaged.dated.and in the most part written in english.....so we filled a basket and came back for tea and cakes at the hotel..
we went out for dinner with the belgium girl..linda...and grabbed a tuktuk to romdang restaurant..a.charitable organisation that helps street kids learn the hospitality trade..plus the food and location were great.....
