There are a few brewpubs in Atlanta, but we picked Max Lager's Wood-Fired Grill and Brewery because we were leaving the aquarium in downtown Atlanta, and this brewery was only 10 minutes away. It was fairly empty, but we were a bit too late for the lunch crowd. Max Lager's is in an old brick building on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.

It has quite a bit of character. The downstairs area has a bar with a small bar area as well as a fairly large area for dining. Upstairs is lined with copper kettles, which is a very cool effect. I'm surprised more brewpubs don't do this. There is another bar upstairs, some seating, and a few pool tables. It looks like a cool place to go after work for a few beers. There is also a separate room upstairs set up for what looks like fine dining. I assume it is for private events.

The beers we had were pretty good. Jason had an IPA, and Janell got an Oktoberfest. Both were good beers. The food there was pretty good, too. Like it says above, we mainly stopped there because it was close to where we already were, but Max Lager's is definitely a recommended stop.
