After an all night journey my host Kim picked me up at 7:00am in Mackay. She took me for a quick tour of the town and then dropped me off at her place while she is at work, which I am finding is a very common thing with couchsurfing- great and amazing people.
So that meant much needed nap time and then I walked to the grocery store for a few things. It was great to stay at a house and take it easy for a bit in the middle of staying at all these hostels. But my host is a real life circus performer and does all kinds of cool talents. I got to see her practice some cool light tricks.
That's the great thing about couchsurfing, there is always something totally cool and unexpected that you had no idea it would be there.
Next stop is Airlie Beach for some sailing!
