A great morning begins with breakfast some pool time and some lounging by the pool with the boys. Dad took the boys to the pool and Mom joined us after getting the RV road worthy again. Just before noon we headed out to, of course Starbucks first, then on to Bryce Canyon City via the timeless and gorgeous UT-12 highway. It seemed like ever half hour we had arrived on a different planet passing such notables as Lunar Mesa, which literally looked like being on the moon for an hour. We passed through the Dixie National Forest to an elevation of 9600 feet ASL, again a huge change from Moab and being on the moon. We then traveled through the Capitol Reef National Park, where we got to see some petroglyphs carved by Fremont Indians over 1000 years ago. It was interesting explaining this Jaxson, how before people knew how to make books, they told their stories on rock walls. The very cool part was how he replicated his own petroglyphs in Silly Putty afterwards.

We then descended towards Bryce Canyon through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. That was cool. It was literally like driving down stairs through various rock layers to reach the canyon floor where the plant life was full and rich, almost topical. We cut across several of these stairs on our way to Bryce. Awesome.

We arrived at Ruby's RV Campground around 8pm, just in time for more hot dogs and s'mores by the campfire. Jaxson absolutely loved helping Daddy build the fire and set up the campsite!
