It is 47 days until we leave and though this may not be exciting for you to read, it will provide us with memories of what we have gone through to prepare for this trip.  Yesterday Jim, Sandy and Becca got shots for Hepatitis A&B (J&S) and Becca got Hep.A and Tetnus, Diptheria I think.  Today Becca woke up with sore stomach, low grade fever (99.6), and a headache.  All reasonable side effects of the vaccinations.  We have not suffered any side effects from any of the others.  (Yellow fever and 3 X rabies shots)  We are able to get some of our shots through our doctor and are saving quite a bit of cash by purchasing the vaccinations at the pharmacy and taking them to a doc for administering.  This saving amount still needs to be calculated.  We have kept receipts but have not really logged them so we don't know how much we have spent so far.  This will be an ongoing topic of conversation for us, as we wouldn't do this trip without keeping track of our expenditure for those who may want to undertake a similar trip!

I went to Shoppers to fax off our rental agreement to Belguim and our Chinese hotel credit card info for booking purposes.  It cost me 37.00!!! Yikes, note to self: beg, borrow or steal a fax machine next time.....

Simon is at Redberry camp and so got out of having his shot.  Tonight Jim and Simon are going to see Mark Knopffler do his extremely talented thing on guitar.  Remember I said Simon is at Redberry camp?  Jim is going out to pick him up, see the show, then get up early to return Simon to camp.  Oh well, Simon needed to come home anyway since he forgot his skateboard at home!!  No amount of parents suggesting things like, "Simon it might be a good idea if you brought all your gear up to make sure you have everything", seemed to help.

We have begun to dismantle the house to prepare for a good cleaning.  It looks so empty, just having the pictures off of the walls in the hallway.....and all that clean white paint underneath the spot where the pictures were!  Wow is that what they mean by 'spring cleaning'?
