This morning we hired some bikes to ride around the 643 acre park. It has miles of paved trails through the bushland leading to fishing wharfs, sporting fields and lakes. We have gone from spotting bears in the north, to spotting 'gators in the south. No luck so far.

The park has a massive display of Christmas Lights. Most of Charleston's residents come just for a drive through the park or gather during the festive season. Maintenance crews were working on the displays as we rode around.

Before making our way on the 2 hour drive to Savannah, we stopped by Folly Island for lunch. Folly Beach is known to Charleston locals as "the Edge of America" and one of the more popular surf spots along the East Coast. The water is a muddy brown colour, possibly due to the tidal basin and river inflows. We decided on a walk on the beach rather than a swim.
