Today we spent most of the day travelling south to Blountville, just over the border into Tennessee. The journey through the Appalachian Mountains was very picturesque and the landscape reminded us of travelling up the Pacific Highway towards Port Macquarie. The roads here are amazing with at least two lanes, if not three, each way even in country areas of the state.

We stopped at a rest area for lunch in the motorhome. So lovely to pull up at clean amenities and make lunch ourselves, just off the motorway.

The trees are changing colour now but it will probably be in a few more weeks of cooler weather before the real change of autumn colour. Instead we will be like the ‘snow birds’ (retirees heading to warmer climates in the US) and continue making our way south to Florida over the next week.
