Saturday, September 17th

From Cabot we headed out on a scenic drive to the Grand View Winery. It was really pretty with mountains in the distance and some of the trees changing colors.  When we got to the winery we were surprised to find that it was quite a small building.  We got the RV parked and headed in.  They gave us a tour, which basically consisted of a small room with some big tanks in it of different wine.  The lady informed us that most of their wines are not made from grapes since grapes do not grow well in Vermont.  They do have some made from grapes they get from New York.  The other wines are made from different fruits and they have to add sugars and yeast to the process.  We were interested to hear about their dandelion wine too.  They are currently sold out of it so we didn't get to taste any, but they are making more.

After getting the two minute tour we had some samples.  We really liked the Raspberry Infusion, which is a semi dry blend of red grape and raspberry.  Another good one was Strawberry Rhubarb, which is a pleasant blend of bold assertiveness of rhubarb and slight sweetness of strawberry.  This one smelled very strawberry, but actually wasn’t really that sweet.  We purchased a bottle of each of these and then headed on our way.
